她的专业旅程 1991 - 目前

​Wai Ying is a registered  Dramatherapist in the United Kingdom and practises in accordance to the ethics and guidelines of Health and Care Professionals Council. Pioneering clinical arts therapy in drama and movement with touch, sound, visual arts, puppetry, and psychotherapy in a clinical care setting at the Geriatric Specialist Clinic and acute ward for [1] persons living with dementia and/or behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia. Her other focused areas are supporting moods and behaviours with [2] persons living with intellectual disability and with/without dementia, [3] persons needing palliative care, and also [4] caregivers needing support for their psychological wellbeing.

With the assistance of the Overseas Arts Scholarship (2011) from the Singapore National Arts Council, she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Drama and Movement Therapy (using the Sesame Approach) at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, University of London, in 2012. She is the first qualified Singaporean Dramatherapist and featured in The Straits Times on the 9th February 2013. In the same year on 6th October, the Singapore Women’s Weekly Magazine awarded her in recognition of her trailblazing contribution to the society in the category of Arts & Media.

 

She is also a qualified early childhood educator, accredited by the Singapore's Ministry of Education - Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports Pre-school Qualification Accreditation Committee (MOE-MCYS PQAC) in 2007.

 

Prior to these, her involvement in theatre began as early as 1991 and the engagement turned professional after her completion in fashion design studies with Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts. She was invited to The Finger Players as a pioneering member (co-founded a children puppetry theatre company under The Theatre Practice in 1996). Through the years, she worked with many local theatre companies such as The Theatre Practice, Dramabox, Toy Factory Theatre Ensemble, Amp Theatre, Television Corporation of Singapore, Practice Performing Arts Centre and Paper Monkey Theatre. As a transdisciplinary artist, her professional work include costume designing, puppeteering, acting, production making, facilitating, curriculum developing in the fields of theatre and creative drama for young children. Partners she had also worked with were Singapore Media Academy, Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan - Arts & Cultural Troupe, Singapore Homeschoolers Association, Metta School and other primary and secondary schools in Singapore.

 

Wai Ying, thus has an extensive background in the areas of Theatre, Drama, Visual Arts and Drama-in-education. The diversity of her creative work garnered much respect among her peers and students. 

蕙因 是英国注册戏剧治疗师,她按照英国健康与保健行业理事会的道德与指导方针,实践治疗。

 

在2011年,蕙因获得新加坡艺术理事会的海外艺术奖学金的协助下,2012年毕业于英国伦敦大学 - 皇家中央演讲及戏剧学院的戏剧与律动治疗硕士学(芝麻疗法)。她是新加坡首位取得执业资格的戏剧治疗师,也因此受访并刊登于2月9日2013年的新加坡海峡时报 Singapore’s Straits Times。 同一年的10月6日,新加坡妇女每周杂志 Singapore Women’s  Weekly Magazine 颁发了一项艺术媒体类别的奖项以答谢她开拓的贡献

 

在2007年获得新加坡教育部与社会发展及体育部的核准,蕙因也是一位合格学前教育家 。

 

还未当上戏剧治疗师和学前教育家之前,1991年起,蕙因就开始从事剧场工作。 在 1996年从拉萨(新航)艺术学院的服装设计课程毕业后就即刻受邀一起开创十指帮 (1996-1998 在实践剧场领导下是属儿童偶剧场)。此外,亦活躍於实践剧场、戏剧盒、TOY 肥料厂、AMP 剧场、新加坡电视台、猴纸剧坊等的策划、剧场训练及演出。她的创作包括了舞台服装设计(人与偶)、表演(演员/偶者或两者)、幕后工作、授课以及儿童(戏剧)创意课程设计。她的工作伙伴包括了新传媒学院、新加坡福建会馆-文化艺术团、新加坡家教协会、慈光学校和其它多所新加坡中、小学。

 

蕙因在戏剧、视觉艺术、学前教育和戏剧教育的领域里过了逾20年。这些领域不止丰富了她的专业生涯也让她持有广泛的创造性经验,所以囊括了同行和学生的尊敬。
